Details of experience:
When Rosalie M. arrived at Glengariff on December 20, 2024, she required significant assistance with basic functions. During her initial assessment, she struggled with bed mobility, transfers, activities of daily living (ADLs), and ambulation. She was only able to walk ten feet using a rolling walker with the help of one person.
The rehabilitation team quickly identified the need for a comprehensive therapy program that would focus on improving her strength, mobility, and independence. This marked the beginning of a dedicated rehabilitation journey, with physical and occupational therapists working diligently to help Rosalie regain her independence.
Throughout her stay, Rosalie made remarkable progress, thanks in large part to the efforts of her physical therapists, including Mark and Isabella, who were particularly instrumental in her recovery. With their expert guidance, Rosalie gradually regained the skills and confidence needed to improve her mobility.
By the time of her discharge on February 15, 2025, Rosalie had achieved significant milestones…she was able to perform bed mobility independently, complete transfers with minimal setup, and walk 150 feet using a rolling walker with only a set-up required. She was also able to navigate ten steps with supervision, a major improvement from her initial condition.
Rosalie’s recovery extended beyond the work of the therapy team; the entire Glengariff leadership played a key role in her positive experience. Her family, especially her daughters, expressed deep gratitude for the exceptional care Rosalie received. They particularly appreciated the proactive support and outstanding coordination from the administrative team, who ensured a smooth and effective rehabilitation process. Janina and Nena, the heads of the rehab department, provided expert guidance and tailored her therapy sessions to maximize her recovery.
Thanks to her hard work and diligent mindset along with the support of leadership and coordination at Glengariff, Rosalie was able to walk independently using just a walker by the time of her discharge, and her family remains in close contact with the team, expressing their lasting appreciation for the transformative impact they had on Rosalie’s rehabilitation.
